VSL Vienna Dimension Strings Bundle STANDARD

€662.50

With a total of over half a million samples, this bundle of Vienna Dimension Strings Standard Libraries is one of the most ambitious and time intensive production in the history of the Vienna Symphonic Library.

This bundle includes the standard editions of Vienna Dimension Strings 1 and Vienna Dimension Strings 2.

A FULL bundle edition is also available here, which contains the over 1 million samples provided in the combination of Dimension Strings 1 plus Dimension Strings 1 Extended and Dimension Strings 2.

The recordings for all of the Dimension Strings series took place in Vienna’s famed Silent Stage and started as early as fall 2008, taking around four years.

The 24 string players (8 violins, 6 violas, 6 cellos and 4 double basses) were recorded in homogeneous groups, capturing all of the human interactions and slight imperfections of a live performance. Individual microphones for each player allow you to access each voice of the ensemble.

The Bundle includes both Vienna Dimension Strings Standard Collections at a reduced Bundle price and comes with the free Vienna Instruments player. To make the most of these unique multi-dimensional samples, we recommend using Vienna Instruments Pro.

Vienna Dimension Strings 1

Vienna Dimension Strings I opens a new chapter in the history of sampling technology. The recordings in Vienna’s famed Silent Stage started as early as the fall of 2008. With a total of more than 830,000 samples in the Full Library, recorded in four years at our Silent Stage, it is by far the most ambitious and intensive production in the history of the Vienna Symphonic Library. To put these numbers in perspective: Since the foundation of the company in 2000, we have published more than two million samples, covering nearly every instrument of the symphonic orchestra and more.

The 24 string players of Vienna Dimension Strings I were recorded in homogeneous groups (8 violins, 6 violas, 6 cellos and 4 double basses), capturing all of the human interactions and slight imperfections of a live performance, but this time we’ve used individual microphones for each player, which allows you to access each voice individually.

Vienna Dimension Strings 2

This Collection is the sequel to Vienna Dimension Strings I. It contains nearly the same playing techniques, but these string instruments were exclusively recorded “con sordino” (with mutes), offering all-new sonic subtleties. Playing with mutes dampens the transmission of energy from the strings to the body of the instrument and softens or darkens the sound. The effect of these silky smooth timbres perfectly suits intimate arrangements and emotional ballads, or envelops a sensitive cue with subtle intensity. An insider tip of Hollywood film composers is to blend the normal string sound with muted strings for achieving a very special broad, soft, and warm string environment.
